+ Forecast Outlook: SANVU will dissipate eventually into a Low Pressure Area (LPA) sooner or later due to the absence of air moisture from warm ocean temperatures which fuels every tropical cyclone.
+ Effects: Dissipating rainbands of SANVU continues to spread across Guangdong & Jiangxi Provinces today, however improving weather conditions can be expected late today or tomorrow, Aug 15. Total rainfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches (75 to 150 mm) may still be expected over Guangdong & Jiangxi Provinces with isolated maximum amounts of 8 inches (200 mm) over mountainous terrain while 1 to 3 inches (25 to 75 mm) may be expected along parts of Southern China. These rains could produce life-threatening flash floods & mud slides.
+ Current Monsoon Intensity: Southwest Monsoon continues to weaken over the South China Sea. Its effects remains over the offshore areas of Taiwan and Southern China. Total rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches (50 to 100 mm) may still be expected along the affected areas today.
